The chickens are coming!

I have placed my 2011 order for chickens and turkeys with homestead hatchery in Preston, Idaho
I will have birds availble in May, July, and September.
I will also have some turkeys available for thanksgiving.

We are also taking orders for farm fresh pork that will be available in July. The price will be $2.50 per pound  for the animal on the rail. The term on the rail means after the animal is harvested and prepared to be stored in the butcher cooler ( hide, head, feet and inedible parts removed ).

You will be responsible for the processing fees of the animal. I will arrange delivery of the animal to the butcher of your choice as well as help you choose the processing that will best suit your needs, plan on an extra .50 per pound for processing and curing.

Never Say Never

I used to say I would never ever "blog". I thought a "blogger" was something you blew from your nose. now I am officially a big green "blogger".

This summer I am raising Chickens, Turkeys, and Pigs and I plan to sell them so I figured this would be the best way to get the word out. please tell everyone you know that I am doing this. I want to eventually own a custom meat shop that will allow me to produce, process, and market locally produced food.

I will post more information throughout the year to keep you posted on the progress of this endeavor as well as let you know when products are available for purchase and how you can order.
